The PFERD POLICAP® Seamless Abrasive Cap is engineered for high-performance grinding on stainless steels and heat-resistant superalloys. Measuring 1/2" x 11/16" and manufactured in Shape C (cylindrical with radius end), this abrasive cap is ideal for blending, contour grinding, edge work, and surface refinement—especially on materials that generate heat and load abrasives quickly. Built with 80 grit Ceramic CO-COOL, this cap uses a specialized ceramic oxide grain structure combined with active-grinding bond components to deliver considerably higher stock removal rates. The integrated grinding additives reduce loading and promote cooler grinding performance, making it a strong choice for stainless steel (INOX) and high-temperature nickel- and cobalt-based alloys commonly used in turbine construction and aerospace applications, including INCONEL and HASTELLOY. POLICAP® abrasive caps feature a seamless design, allowing full use of the abrasive surface for uniform wear and consistent results. During operation, the cap expands securely onto the holder for stable grinding and reduced slipping. Product changes are quick and easy—simply twist slightly clockwise and pull off while leaving the holder clamped in the tool. Suitable for materials including INOX, nickel-based alloys, cobalt-based alloys, hardened and heat-treated steels (>370 HV / 38 HRC), high-hardness steels (>54 HRC), cast iron, bronze, and nodular cast iron, this cap is ideal for leveling, step-by-step fine grinding, and surface work. For best performance, operate at a recommended peripheral speed of 2,000–4,000 SFPM. Do not exceed the maximum permitted speed of 5,500 SFPM.
