F-4092 Poplar Fluted Box Newel posts have a pedestal size of 7-1/2" inches and an overall length of 55 inches. Pedestal wall is 3/4 inch with the main shank of 6 inch. The F-4092 box newel can be used as a starting, intermediate or landing newel post. It's primary function is a starting newel because of its size. Half-Sawn newels are available. The F-4092 Fluted Box Newels are made with lock mitered corners, which means they have no end grains, developing elegance. This Poplar box newels are in stock and ready to ship. Poplar works as a stain grade or is the best choice if paint your newel. Poplar's tight grain allows for a smooth painted finish. For staining, poplar is ideal in matching walnut, mahogany and Brazilian cherry colors.
