The guards armed with crossbows are a traditional icon of the wealth and power of their lords. Nobles and aristocrats employ these men and their sophisticated gadgets as private guards and as a physical show of their prosperity. Fortunately, even if their task was mainly in front of the gallery, these men know their weapons well. A crossbow is capable of piercing armor, flesh and bone with ease, and can shoot down a zombie from afar without any problems. Their rate of fire is quite low, but if used well or from behind a parapet, even a handful of crossbowmen can turn the tables of a battle. This box contains 12 Crossbow Guards, non-player characters that can be used in any fantastic setting Zombicide product (Black Plague, Green Horde, White Death and their respective expansions). Crossbow Guards are like side heroes who support the group of Survivors. Survivors can spend actions to order them to move or carry out ranged attacks with their crossbows. Crossbow Guards can defend positions of strategic value and slow down the zombie invasion while the Survivors focus on completing game objectives.
